Metal Carports
A carport is the cheapest way to get a vehicle, a boat, or a load of hay out of the weather. We have built them in Nancy, Kentucky for 37 years, and our own crew sets yours on your site — there is no dealer in the middle adding a markup.
Three roof styles, and why it matters
A vertical roof runs the panels up and over the ridge so rain, leaves and snow slide off the ends instead of sitting in the middle. It is the one to buy if the carport is over 30 feet long, if you get real snow, or if you want it to still look right in twenty years.
A horizontal roof with a square eave runs the panels the length of the building and finishes with a boxed edge. It costs less and looks cleaner against a house.
A horizontal roof with a round eave is the classic rounded corner on 2½ inch round pipe. It is our lowest-cost frame and plenty for a car or a mower.
Sizes and what they actually hold
- 12 ft wide — one car, a side-by-side, a small boat. 12x20 is the size most people start with.
- 18 to 21 ft wide — two vehicles with room to open both doors.
- 24 to 26 ft wide — two vehicles plus a workbench, or a pickup and a camper side by side.
- 28 to 30 ft wide — equipment, hay, or a shop bay you will close in later.
- Lengths run 20 to 50 feet. Leg heights run 6 to 13 feet.
What is included
The price you see on this website is the building delivered and installed on your level site, rebar-staked into the ground. It includes the frame, the roof, the bracing, and the labor.
Premier carports carry 20-year roofing, welded snow trusses, and a choice of 12 colors at no extra charge. Kentucky Farm Style carports are a lower-cost, non-certified frame for light-duty and seasonal use — good for equipment, not what we would put beside a new house.
Sides, ends, gables, extra legs, anchors for a concrete pad, and garage doors are all priced on the site as you build it.
Before you order
Your site needs to be reasonably level. We can work with a small slope, but a bad grade means either fill or taller legs on one side, and it is better to know before the truck shows up.
If you are pouring concrete, call the office at 606-871-7303 for pad dimensions before you pour. The pad needs to match the frame, not the other way around, and every year we see a pad poured an inch too small.
30 inch auger anchors for concrete are $30 each.

Our own crew delivers and sets the building — we do not hand you off to a contractor. Anywhere inside the 180-mile circle is covered, which reaches Lexington, Louisville, Bowling Green, Knoxville and Nashville. Outside it? Call us, we can often work it out.
Questions we get asked
- How long does installation take?
- Most carports go up in a few hours by a two-man crew on the day of delivery. Larger garages can take a full day.
- Do I need a permit?
- It depends on your county and whether the building is on a permanent foundation. Check with your county building office. We can supply the dimensions and drawings you will need.
- Can it be moved later?
- A rebar-staked carport can be taken down and reset, though it is a job for a crew. Anchored to concrete it is meant to stay.
- How much snow will it hold?
- Premier buildings are built with welded snow trusses for Kentucky and Tennessee loads. Kentucky Farm Style buildings are not certified and are not the right choice if you expect heavy snow.
